Custom Engines: Introduction
|
One of our first loves, and what we are best known for… Stoneway custom engines have been popular sellers on eBay for over two years now! (Any time you want to see what we’re offering, just get on eBay and search “by seller” under barnumnbailey ) . If we don’t have any items listed, it’s because we’re busy making things to order! Now, we are opening this website to answer the many questions, and requests for custom builds received recently… and, to give you an idea of just what we can make for you! Much of this site is still under construction, so please bear with us, since custom work has got to come ahead of web work. My personal first custom engine design was in 1957, and I just kept at it for the last forty-plus years: it was a much-modified Cox dual-bypass Babe Bee with handmade rear intake. The carburetor was turned with needle files in my Dad’s Black & Decker drill, which was clamped to my Mom’s kitchen table! Not popular with mom, but a big hit at the local schoolyard! That same engine has been resurrected this year in the form of the Stoneway BAZOOKA. The name came from schoolyard buddies who thought the intake looked like a bazooka. Can’t argue with that one! We have a great number of custom engines shown here at our website. They are broken into different categories to allow faster downloading, so please check out the entire selection. Since every engine is hand crafted, all the variety you see here is only the “tip of the iceberg”. We can, within reason, build most any engine you would like. Whether it’s custom porting, intakes, lightened cranks, exotic colors and finishes… f you can DREAM it, we can probably BUILD it. |
